As you can see we are situated within the “golden triangle” of three top tourist destinations – Waitomo, Rotorua and Lake Taupo. One of our guided walks can be easily worked in with your other activities.
Or use our farm stay accommodation as your base and spend a couple of days seeing all the wonderful sights to be seen in this area.
We are an easy 1 hour drive to the Glow Worm Caves at Waitomo, the mud pools of Rotorua and Lake Taupo.
How to find us
From Rotorua – take SH30 to Atiamuri, turn right onto Ongaroto Road (which is still SH30), turn left and cross the Whakamaru dam, passed the shops and garage at Whakamaru and then turn left into Sandels Road.
From Taupo – take SH1 out to Atiamuri, turn left onto Ongaroto Road (SH30), turn left and cross the Whakamaru dam, passed the shops and garage at Whakamaru and then turn left into Sandels Road.
From Tokoroa – take SH 32 out to the Whakamaru Dam, cross over the dam, passed the shops and garage at Whakamaru and then turn left into Sandels Road.
From Hamilton – take SH1 through Cambridge, Tirau, Putararu to Tokoroa. Turn right onto SH 32 out to the Whakamaru Dam, cross over the dam, passed the shops and garage at Whakamaru and then turn left into Sandel Road.

Once you turn onto Sandel Road continue for approximately 10 kilometres. You will see the mountain ahead guiding you on and remember over the centuries many people have looked up at the mountain as a beacon to guide them to their destination.
You will travel over a single lane bridge, up a hill and then onto Bush Road. Continue on to the privately owned Titiraupenga Trust Farm. Here the road forks and you will turn to the right to the Managers House and wind up a steep hill. Continue passed the manager’s house to Whare Awhina where your guides, John and Mariata, will be waiting to greet you.
